Ingredients
- 1-pound lean ground turkey
- 8 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1⁄2 teaspoon allspice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
Instructions
- Add the ground turkey, minced garlic, maple syrup, onion powder, kosher salt, dried sage, allspice, and black pepper to a large mixing bowl. Mix the sausage together very well.
- Add in the blueberries and carefully mix to combine. Form the sausage mixture into 8 to 10 equal-sized patties. When forming the sausage patties, try to enclose the blueberries with some of the meat so they stay in place and don’t fall out when they cook. Gently press the sausage patties flat while forming into a round shape so they cook evenly.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add oil, followed by the sausage patties in a single layer making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip, and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sausages are browned on both sides and completely cooked through, or the internal temperature reads 165°F. Follow the same directions until they are all patties are cooked through.
- Serve with your favorite breakfast items like potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggs, or toast.
