Blueberry Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan set over medium-high heat, stir together blueberries, sugar, and water; stirring occasionally, bring to a boil.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Let cool completely.
  3. Transfer simple syrup to a blender and purée until smooth. Strain into a jar, pressing to extract all the syrup. Discard the solids. Seal and store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

This Blueberry Simple Syrup has just three ingredients – blueberries, sugar and water – but it adds a tasty boost of blue to oh-so-many beverages! In just a few minutes, you can whip up a versatile blueberry base good for two weeks (but if you use it all before then, we don’t judge). This blueberry simple syrup is perfect for mocktails, cocktails and many other delicious drinks, including the three pictured above.
